Dear Friends of Amy E.,

TLDR someone I love has stage 4 colon cancer and we want to do everything possible to give her a chance to survive.

First, thank you taking the time to read this. I need to say we are ALL bombarded from every direction from check out round-ups, to school fund raisers, and many other worthy Go Fund Me causes. So, when you are able to be generous, please remember this.

MY friend, cycling teammate, mother, wife, and avid Oregon and Arizona bike racer; Amy Engelhard, is still battling a very aggressive colon cancer.

Amy already underwent surgery to remove 4+ tumors and 6 rounds of 48 hours chemotherapy. If you have never seen what chemo does- it doesn’t discriminate, it’ kills everything…everything.

Unable to tolerate chemo any longer, Amy has gone 5 months without any treatment. Unfortunately, since her chemo has ended, she has new related and measurable tumors.

The rate of growth is very scary. There are alternative treatments to chemo, such as immunotherapy and insulin potentiated chemo. This is very promising!

However, despite having strong empirical evidence to prove their efficacy, these medical alternatives are not covered by insurance. The typical costs range from $40,000 - $60,000/month with treatments lasting 2 – 4 months.

For those who don’t know Amy personally, she is the light of her family’s life. Also, she is always the first to provide heart-felt, meaningful support to anyone. It is because of her loving and incredibly generous spirit, we consider Amy to be the very best of us.

Please, don’t be fooled by Amy’s recent resurgence on the bike scene. With the chemo mostly gone from her body and the new abdominal growths relatively small, she is feeling good. We want to keep her that way!!!!

Therefore, I ask if you are feeling generous to help defray the costs for these alternative treatments and show Amy your continued love and support.
