Support Amy Coulson's Jaw Replacement to Eat Again
Donation protected
In 2022 Amy Coulson was hit in the head with a dumpster lid during a wind storm. She began experiencing her jaw locking up to the point of being fully locked and unable to eat solid food since December of 2022. After multiple doctor visits and an unsuccessful surgery she finally found a doctor willing to perform a jaw replacement to correct the ankylosis (fused bone) of the jaw the dumpster lid caused. This doctor out of Denver is one of very few willing to perform this surgery and is unfortunately out of network with her insurance. This means not only will she be paying out of pocket for all expenses required for traveling out of Pueblo to have the surgery she is also responsible for the cost of surgery that must be paid upfront. She has already undergone imaging and her custom joint is in the process of being built. In the meantime of awaiting surgery, she will likely have a semi-permanent IV placed in her arm and be given all of her nutrition through that until she’s able to eat. This too comes with unexpected cost as surgery dates continue to be pushed further and further.
