Help Amy Get New Lungs!
My mother, Amy Chesley, is a vibrant, caring woman. Everyone who knows her knows that she would give the shirt off her back to help anyone in need. Three years ago, she became severely ill. What started as double bilateral pneumonia quickly turned into chronic lung damage. She spent 36 days in the hospital in the fall of 2021, mostly in the ICU, including three days where she was in a medically induced coma on a ventilator. Ever since, the damage to her lungs has been irreparable. Over the past year, her health has worsened significantly. She is receiving treatment at UF Shands Hospital and is in the process of being given new lungs. We are asking for donations to help cover the myriad of expenses related to a transplant, including medications, specialist appointments, therapies, and assistance with housing closer to the hospital for the recovery period. If you can give, please give what you can, and please share this with your family and friends. Thank you.
