Hello! My name is Barb Yemm, a friend of the AMAZNG Amy Brooner for over 30 years. I was her maid of honor and have watched flourish in many different roles: daughter, sister, friend, physical therapist, coworker, rehabilitation services supervisor, but none more important to her than her favorite roles as a wife and MOM to her two beautiful daughters Emma and Mia.
Six months ago, Amy learned that cancer had returned, metastasizing to her liver. Now, chemotherapy is not controlling the disease, and Amy’s wish is to spend as much time as possible with her beautiful girls. I am building this fund to support Emma and Mia, with the approval of Amy, Tom, and the Jorgensen family.
Staying home to help with Amy’s care and spending time together will cause a significant financial hardship for each girl. Both girls have held jobs as soon as they were able, and typically funds from their summer jobs are how they pay their rent and support their activities for the upcoming school year.
In the fall, Emma (21) will be a senior at Saint Louis University, and Mia (19) will be a sophomore at Mizzou. All donations received will go into an account I manage for rent, groceries, health insurance coverage, gas, and daily necessities for Emma and Mia.
There is a quote that says, “Life is 10% of what happens to us, and 90% of how we react to it.” If you had the opportunity to engage with Amy during her cancer journey, you would probably agree with me that Amy has remained THE most positive person, with her motivation and determination fueled by her desire to “be there for her girls.” Any amount you are willing to contribute would help the girls return to the life Amy dreams for them. If you are unable to donate at this time, it would mean the world to me if you could keep the entire family in your prayers. Please share this link along to anyone you think may be interested in contributing. Thank you for your care, concern, and love for the Brooner family.
