My name is Amy Bonar & on October 20th 2024, I was driving home from upstate NY with some friends after a hike. My brakes started to fail and the car started vibrating. Soon after another driver flagged our attention. We pulled over and he told us that the car was on fire.
We grabbed everything that we could. From a distance we could see sparks dripping from the bottom of the car- assuming it was an oil leak & the oil was on fire. The person who pulled us over was already on the phone with 911 at this point. After about 10 minutes the car slowly started catching afire. I was grateful that we made it out but i was also devastated. I watched as the car I only bought a year ago- my first car (Nissan Rogue 2010) became ashes. I worked so hard at my job & saved for 2 years to pay for that car & was so proud I bought it myself.
I hate to ask for help but I wouldn’t if I didn’t need it. Please, if you can give anything even $5 it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you & please keep a fire extinguisher in your car.
