Amy and Ben Keeter are a devoted couple who have been raising their grandchildren and working hard to make ends meet. Even before their recent accident, they were facing financial difficulties and had already exhausted any assistance they could find. Despite these challenges, they have always done their best to provide a loving and stable home for their family.
During the last week in January, Ben came to pick Amy up to go home on their Harley trike, which they had worked so hard to save up for. While traveling on Abercorn Street, a truck in front of them slammed on the brakes to avoid hitting another vehicle who had recklessly changed lanes without leaving enough room between them. Ben did his best to avoid hitting the truck, causing him to lay the trike down and drag Amy and himself until it stopped. Amy suffered a broken humerus, road rash on one side of her body including her face, which is also bruised and lacerated. Ben was hospitalized for three days with five broken ribs, a broken shoulder blade, road rash on his shoulder, back, and knees, an exhaust burn on his neck, and a lacerated kidney. Their only mode of transportation was totaled, making it even harder for them to get to work, medical appointments, and care for their grandchildren.
The funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward helping Amy and Ben with essential needs like housing, transportation, medical bills, and food as they recover from this traumatic event. They are now on their own, toughing things out and doing everything they can for their grandchildren. Any amount you can give will be greatly appreciated and will help them get back on their feet during this incredibly difficult time.
