Repairs to the furnace will be completed today Feb. 13. And of course the weather has turned warm! Isn’t that the way it goes. Unfortunately, the money collected will only cover the cost of the furnace repair. Which seems to be a pretty good deal! Thanks to Dave & Greg for donating their time!
I will leave the gofund me open for a while longer, in the hopes to get donations to
help with the plumbing costs.
THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU WHO DONATED either financially, prayerfully and sharing!
WE HAVE FOUND SOMEONE TO REPAIR THE FURNACE!!! We are close to having what we need to pay for the parts and labor. The plumbing is being taken care of also! The generosity of those that have helped financially, physically and with prayers has given me more faith in humankind. Please share and help us reach the $3000 goal !!! The sooner we reach that goal the sooner Amy’s house gets warm!
All my life I've heard that God only gives you what he thinks you can handle. I'm starting to believe he over-estimates my strength. These last 12 months have been the most trying of my life. I keep going further and further down this hole I'm in. For the first time in my life, I don't know what to do or how to handle this. I'm so lost. —- Amy Hatfield
Today, I am setting up a GoFundMe for one of my bestest, dearest friends. This woman has the biggest heart of anyone I have met. Single mom, caregiver to her mom, chairwoman of a Walk to End Alzheimer’s team, and crazy cat lady feeding all the strays around her house.
Those are just a few of the characteristics that make up Amy Hatfield. But to her own demise, she has the pride of a lion like the Leo she is. Leo’s are fierce, loyal, stubborn and absolutely refuse to ask for help. Although she will help others without a thought. Driving friends to the grocery, setting up fund raisers for Alzheimer’s, supporting PAWS, donating to charities, volunteering to build beds for children. The list goes on and on demonstrating the huge heart Amy has. While caring for her son, caring for her mother, and busting her ass working at Walmart she saved the money to purchase a home almost 6 years ago. The American Dream, with all the heartache no one tell you about.
Last year my employer surpassed a huge goal and planned a trip to Vegas with all employees and 1 guest. Amy is always my “plus one” and we were thrilled about this paid trip. Then came Christmas 2025, and a broken furnace (irreparably broken). A new furnace is not cheap. Upon coming home yesterday to the bitter cold (no furnace, no way to keep the house warm) her pipes burst and flooded the basement.
This gofund me is to give a little back to Amy who gives so much to others. If you have ever met Amy, benefited from her selflessness and kind heart, it’s time to give back. Charity begins at HOME, with the ones close to
us, the ones that need the help but are too proud to ask for it. Amy needs repairs done to her roof, a new furnace (desperately) and plumbing repair/rework. The temperature in her house is 43 degrees right now. Space heaters are just possible fire causing bandaids that really don’t help. Until she gets a new furnace, it’s useless to fix the plumbing that might burst again with this sub freezing weather. It’s a vicious cycle, no heat, no water.
Please give to my friend. Think of Amy as one of your friends too, because if you needed help she’d be one of the first to be there.
Trish
