My name is Rachel, and I am raising money for a good friend of mine, Amson. On the afternoon of August 24, he was stopped for a tail light that was out. Within minutes, he was apprehended by an ICE agent and taken away. Amson and his family have been here from Haiti for quite some time on asylum.

Amson is the IT guy for Lincoln Charter School. He spends countless hours helping translate for the Haitian families, all while making sure the teachers and kids have devices that work.

He coaches three different soccer teams. He ensures the boys on his teams are taken care of, and loves each boy like they are family.

He is like a father figure to his brother, who is a sophomore at William Penn High School. He helps provide for him and ensures he keeps up with his work and grades, so he can continue to play varsity soccer for his school.

Amson is also a wonderful friend. I first met him a year ago, and we clicked right away. We coach together, and our passion for soccer was obvious from day one.

I am asking for everyone’s help to get him out of the detention center he is in, almost three hours away. He will need a lawyer, and he needs help with the funds needed to pay.

Amson is truly one of the kindest, most giving people I have ever known. He has a smile that can light up a room. He is always worried about everyone else, and now it is our turn to take care of him.

Please, any little bit helps. We need to get him back to his family, his job, and his teams.
