Support Amrit's Cancer and IVF Journey
Donation protected
Amrit’s cancer journey started far too early, at the age of 23. Four years ago she was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer, just months after she married the love of her life, David. Amrit has always dreamed of having children of her own and when she met David, she knew he was the person that she would realize that dream with.
Following the removal of one of her ovaries and fallopian tubes, Amrit was declared cancer-free, and eager to keep looking forward: to new career prospects, to starting a family, to joy, hope and love. She did just that: pivoting from her work as a writer and academic to starting a Medical Assistant Apprenticeship, supporting patients experiencing the same fear and hopelessness surrounding gynecologic cancer.
Unfortunately, after celebrating three years NED (no evidence of disease), Amrit was recently diagnosed with Endometrial Cancer. After a procedure where her tissue was sent to pathology, the sample came back with both precancerous and cancerous cells. To make matters worse, David was recently laid off from his job, and he will lose access to their health insurance in March. Amrit and David will soon be starting the IVF process, so they can increase their chances of starting a family in the future. The IVF process (procedures and medications), on top of the treatment plan Amrit and her oncologist decide on will be inhumanely expensive.
In times like this, it is difficult to know what to do or what to say. One thing we can do, together, is lift some of the financial stress of this uncertain time off of their shoulders.
Please join us in supporting Amrit and David by donating or sharing this fundraiser. Any contribution is appreciated.
