Hello, my name is Patty Gaylord, Olympia Adams’ mother. I truly appreciate you taking a moment to read our story. My 13 year old granddaughter, Amira, had a seizure on Thanksgiving and underwent surgery the next morning to remove two abscesses from her brain. It was determined that these abscesses were brought on by a strep bacterial infection, which if left untreated could be fatal.
My daughter, Olympia, was by Amira’s bedside at Children’s Hospital for 10 days, 5 of those days being in Intensive Care. Amira’s recovery has been remarkable, but her follow-up care consists of intravenous antibiotics being administered at home 4 times a day for the next 2 months and anti-seizure medication for the next 6 months. This round-the-clock care is administered by Olympia which makes her unable to work until Amira fully recovers.
Any money donated will be used to pay current medical expenses and medical expenses going forward. It will also be used to assist with living expenses while Olympia is out of work. Any amount you are willing to contribute is so greatly appreciated, and if you are unable to contribute at this time, sharing with your friends and family would mean the world to us as well.
