Hello, I’m Ainhoa, founder and president of Asociación ABAIA, a spanish non-profit organization that works to support people at risk of social exclusion.

We want to share with you the story of Amir and his family.

"My name is Amir, a young man from Khan Younis. I lost my right leg, and today I live with my family of 7 members in a worn-out tent in the Mawasi area, after we were displaced from Al-Qarara, east of Khan Younis, because of the war.

The tent does not protect us from the heat of summer nor the cold of winter, and every day we struggle to secure the most basic necessities. My family consists of: My father, Raafat (52 years old) My mother, Madeleine (40 years old) My brothers: Mohammed, Abdullah, Moatasem, and myself, Amir We had a sister named Rima, but she passed away due to a brain hemorrhage My eldest brother, Ahmed, has been missing since the beginning of the war, and we still do not know his fate Today, we have nothing but this torn tent, and no source of income to help us survive.

I am also in urgent need of treatment and a prosthetic limb to regain part of my life. Why am I asking for help? I write these words with a heart heavy with pain and hope, pleading that you extend a helping hand to us: We need a shelter to protect my family from homelessness food and medicine to sustain our daily lives Support that will allow me to get a prosthetic limb so I can move again. Queremos compartir contigo la historia de Amir y su familia.

“Mi nombre es Amir, un joven de Khan Younis. Perdí mi pierna derecha y hoy vivo con mi familia de 7 miembros en una tienda desgastada en la zona de Mawasi, después de haber sido desplazados desde Al-Qarara, al este de Khan Younis, debido a la guerra.

La tienda no nos protege del calor del verano ni del frío del invierno, y cada día luchamos por conseguir las necesidades más básicas. Mi familia está formada por: mi padre, Raafat (52 años), mi madre, Madeleine (40 años), mis hermanos Mohammed, Abdullah, Moatasem y yo, Amir.

Tuvimos una hermana llamada Rima, pero falleció debido a una hemorragia cerebral. Mi hermano mayor, Ahmed, está desaparecido desde el inicio de la guerra y aún no conocemos su paradero.

Hoy no tenemos nada más que esta tienda rota y ninguna fuente de ingresos para sobrevivir.

También necesito con urgencia tratamiento y una prótesis para recuperar parte de mi vida. ¿Por qué pido ayuda? Escribo estas palabras con el corazón lleno de dolor y esperanza, pidiendo que nos extiendan una mano amiga: necesitamos un refugio que proteja a mi familia del sinhogarismo, comida y medicinas para sostener nuestra vida diaria, y apoyo que me permita obtener una prótesis para poder volver a moverme.

Cualquier contribución, por pequeña que sea, marcará una gran diferencia en mi vida y en la de mi familia. Su donación hoy no es solo dinero, sino misericordia, esperanza y una nueva vida para nosotros.”
