Support Amin David Dawdy's Heart Surgery Recovery

Our hearts are breaking to share that our beloved father/grampy Amin David Dawdy had to receive an emergency triple bypass heart surgery on 5.15.2025 (we are hoping those are his lucky numbers). He, in many ways, is the heart of our family.

No matter where he is in the world, he has always shown up in times of need. When our mom/grammy had a major surgery (eventhough it was his milestone birthday), when his eldest daughter was going through cancer treatment and major surgery, and many many more times. More recently, he has shown up for his community in Truth or Consequences New Mexico, creating health fairs, building a desert greenhouse to feed the community and teach the next generation how to grow food, and showing up for his friends in their times of need. He has been a huge generator of hope and comfort through his acts of love and kindness, RARELY asking for anything for himself.

Our mom/grammy has agreed to go to Las Cruces, New Mexico and be his local support while he works hard to make it to key health milestones in the hospital and to be there for his transition to rehabilitation, home and then to Portland where he will spend the summer in a much cooler place (NM gets VERY hot this time of year) with more family, one of his granddaughters to cheer him on, and an excellent cardiac rehabilitation facility that he has been connected with over the years. Costs will include a rental for when he gets out of the hospital so he can stay near the hospital, a skilled caregiver/nurse to care for and monitor him, medicine, medical equipment, supplements, healthy food, healing treatments and travel costs.
