Hi, I’m Patti Barnt the CEO/Co Founder of America’s Lifeline Emergency Response Team Foundation (ALERT). I'm reaching out asking you to join our mission to provide hope and assistance to the survivors of Hurricane Helene.

Our organization is still actively assisting survivors in ETN, SW VA, SC and WNC. Many survivors are STILL living in damaged homes and campers with leaking roofs and toxic mold, causing serious health issues. As of 3/8/26 we just had another family who have been living in their car reach out to our organization for assistance.

We are working with over 80 homeowners who have been denied assistance by federal agencies and their insurance companies. The majority of these families consist of at least one of the following categories: elderly, disabled, those with special needs children and/or veterans. These families deserve to have a safe, healthy, warm home. We will not let them be forgotten!

Despite the overwhelming challenges they face, these resilient individuals are eager to rebuild their lives. Other survivors have donated vehicles that are breaking down and require expensive repairs, which they cannot afford.

Through our **Adopt a Family Hurricane Helene** Facebook group/program, we have assisted families directly, but the needs remain immense. Many families are falling through the cracks, and without immediate assistance, they may never fully recover.

**Our Goal:** We aim to raise funds to address these urgent needs directly. Your contributions will go towards:

- **Car Repairs & Insurance:** Helping families fix or insure their vehicles so they can commute to work and appointments.

- **Housing Needs:** Assisting with temporary housing solutions and repairs for homes that are still standing but unsafe. We are also coordinating with other organizations to provide new homes to survivors with the most pressing needs. Our first home was delivered in November 2025. (We have also coordinated with multiple donors and organizations to pull in dozens of campers for temporary housing in the past year)

- **Immediate Essentials:** Providing resources for food, clothing, medical care, and other urgent necessities.
