My wife and I brought our daughter to Mexico to celebrate her 18th birthday. We were scheduled to fly home on Monday, February 23rd. The drug cartels have caused the airlines to stop flying to Puerto Vallarta and we are stranded here. We are here with our son and two daughters and we are struggling to find a place to stay until the flights resume. My wife and I are both Type I diabetics. We have enough insulin to get us through another 2 days, but we aren’t sure what we will do after that.
We have to leave our hotel Tuesday morning. Hopefully we will either find another place to go, or the airlines will start operating again.
Our family thanks you for any support or prayers you can give.
We want to provide an update. We have booked flights back to Sacramento on Wednesday on a different airline. The funds raised here are helping to offset that cost, and we appreciate all the support. We should be back home and safe by late Wednesday night.
