The American Dream turned into the worst nightmare for John and Kim Hefner when a major storm blew through their business late Friday night into Saturday morning, destroying the dreams of so many others.
Decades of hard work, high costs with material and inventory, pandemics, and a labor shortage, they still maintained and grew the business they’re so passionate about. There is nothing more satisfying to them than handing over the keys to a beautiful and affordable new home to a family that didn’t think it was possible to own rather than rent. The housing industry has almost crippled the dream of home ownership but through their tenacity, understanding of the industry, and ability to negotiate affordability without sacrificing quality is why they have a solid share of the market.
Unfortunately, the storm didn’t affect just American Family Home Sales, if that were the case, they would be able to sustain the business and work through the loss. However, the storm damaged several displays already purchased by families and scheduled for installation in the next few weeks. Kim ordered new homes to replace those that were sold and John’s crew had worked tirelessly in setting up the new displays waiting for the next family to take ownership.
They’re now faced with loss in inventory, sales, revenue, profits, savings, labor, and time. The office sustained damage as well and they’re working diligently with their daughter Katlyn for alternate means to keep things moving forward as best as possible. This is one of the best family owned, American made, quality driven, and affordably priced American dreams that will really need help to recoup. If you could help, either monetarily or prayers, or even mentioning American Family Home Sales to others who are looking for a home, it would be greatly appreciated. If nothing else, stop in and say hello. We’re all still here and we’ll continue to welcome you home. Afterall, home is where the heart is and our hearts are thankful for the kindness received so far. God bless.
