We are American Fabric, a short film about women's issues created by women, created by NY/LA Production a woman-owned non profit organization.
What is American Fabric?
Our film is about two young Pakistani-American women who fight prejudice while reclaiming their agency in their own ways: one is looking to remove her headscarf, while the other longs to be a hijabi.
It’s a tale everyone knows all too well… no matter what you do with your body, someone will always have an opinion about it.
Why American Fabric?
We want to amplify the human right to make one's own choice. That choice belongs to everyone. Whether you're Muslim or not, a story of rising above judgment is relatable.We are proud to be working with a majority female BIPOC cast and crew. Diversity isn’t noise; it’s harmony.
This is the story we want to tell—authentic, bold, and deeply human.
Our differences are woven together to create the American Fabric we live in.
How will People See American Fabric?
For NY/LA Production, this is a manifestation of the work and goals of our organization. We have a robust plan for promotion and visibility through:
- The film festival circuit Many female centric, muslim centric, local, BIPOC and DEI based festivals, as well as many international festivals are interested in films like ours, and we have built relationships with the major film festivals through our previous work.
- Community outreach and events are a part of this plan as well. Several professors and socialites in several cities have indicated their desire to premiere our film for their communities.
- Competition entry and campaign ( like Hollyshorts, Shorts Oscars and Jimmy Kimmel Shorts)
- All media and journalistic outlets we can muster/afford.
But we can’t do it alone.

$7500 Contribution:
- Executive Producer Credit: Your name will appear as an
executive producer in the film's opening credits.
- Festival Circuit: You will have priority access to Domestic
and International festival screenings and events, including VIP
passes if applicable.
