I'm Lisa Coleman, mom of Amelia Coleman. I've started this fundraiser on Amelia's behalf because in December 2025, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Melanoma that has spread to her lymph nodes, liver, and lungs.
As you can imagine, this diagnosis hasn't been easy to accept. We (her family) struggle with understanding how a healthy, beautiful young lady (age 18) could possibly have this to deal with. Why?
As we fully believe God is in control and has her in the palm of His hand, we are still facing the hard reality of this diagnosis.
At age 16, Amelia had a suspicious mole removed from her back. Testing proved it was melanoma. With removal, numerous dermatology appointments, and additional removals with negative results, we thought she was safe.
After graduating from West Lincoln High School, Amelia was accepted to Western Carolina University, our Catamount Girl! She started her freshman year in August and was living her best life.
In September, she noticed a small lump in her left armpit. With college life, finals, and other events going on, she thought nothing of it.
As the lump continued to grow, she brought it to our attention and sought medical advice immediately. After numerous scans and biopsies, the lump is cancer.
In January, God intervened and placed us with a wonderful oncologist.
Amelia has started rapid treatment and is currently fighting this stage of cancer.
Cancer is forcing her to withdraw from college, something that's hard for her to do. Amelia has met great people and has made wonderful friendships at WCU and has missed being there with them.
With this treatment, medical bills are escalating. We are doing everything possible to help her fight, but we need help. If you feel inclined to help us fight, please donate. Any amount will be appreciated. Prayers are also welcomed. We have a lot of folks already praying for complete healing, so please join in our prayers too!
We thank you and greatly appreciate any help.
