The woman you are seeing is my 69-year-old grandmother, Amelia. She is located in her home in Aguascalientes, Mexico.

My grandmother started working from a very young age and started her small family at the age of 15. While she worked tirelessly to provide for her kids and grandkids, along the way she started to fall sick trying to help others.

My grandmother has withstood so many of life's tests, like living in one room with her small children, washing other people's clothes day and night, helping raise children that weren't hers, and losing her daughter to a diabetic coma.

Now, we watch our family pillar struggle to see and to do daily tasks due to her herniated spinal disk, cataracts, and astigmatism. She is in urgent need of surgery, and for the aftercare that comes with this surgery on her eyes. She lives in a place far from the city and would need attention during her recovery.

We ask you, reader, to please help my grandmother have the one blessing of seeing the world and to be independent for as long as she can.
