My name is Amelia Alyce Doll. I’m a full time Musician in the blue ridge area living full-time in my 5 window Skoolie.
I’ve wanted nothing more then to produce and publish the music I’ve made, over the past 10 years of creating. The amount of times I “almost” cut an album, singles, or ep’s up is crazy to me.
Other then the song ‘Eurydice’ (up on Spotify, and all other streaming platforms) , I have yet to record- until about a month ago, something magical happened:
I met Tim Robinson, the owner of Joey Times Productions at Camp Reggae. Got his business card. Left camp. I found his card about a week later, and saw “sound engineer”. There was no hesitation. I called him, and we scheduled a time to Record.
it’s gonna be around $1,000 project to get the 4 songs finished and sounding good. Another 1,000 to Master the songs through Morphius Records in Baltimore. $1,000 for promotion, merch, cd printing. I have yet to buy gear to gig with, but anything left over or extra will go straight to gear! (So I can stop renting/borrowing from musician friends!!)
I’ve been so entirely grateful for the support over the past 5 years of being a full time artisan. It’s thanks to the support of friends and family, this beautiful community I’ve been able to sustain making art/music and gigging full time. I once again, would like to ask, for help.
I can’t finance this project fully on my own. I’ve been just barely able to juggle being on the road full time while making the art, and producing the free content that I put out on my social media pages. I’ve had a bunch of people telling me recently that they wanted to “buy my album”. Others who’ve asked (some, more forcefully then others) “when will you make an album!?” Well: I’m working on it! And, what’s more: I will be putting all of my music out, for FREE. So if you’d like to listen and support, then please donate what you can, to making this dream come to life.
Ameliadoll.muse is my Instagram handle, where I publish (so) many free songs, many of which have full length edits, thoughtful captions and exciting arrangements. I deeply encourage you to find me there, and check out the videos I’ve been recently creating for this ep with Tim.
Music is THE reason I’m here.
Music has held me in moments where I wanted so badly to give up. These songs, specifically have saved me.
‘Rather Than’ was written about 3 years or so, in a place of quiet devastation. I wasn’t ready for the truth of the words to meet me yet. I forgot about it. Wasn’t until last summer that I started to play it. I realized quickly, how much I needed this song to hold me. How even when I wasn’t playing the words, they were holding me through the heartache.
‘Rose Of Wave’ was written 2 years ago, as a testament and testimony to my connection to Aphrodite, and a look into the heart of a self proclaimed “Love Goddess”. A song about holding a fierce love for myself, and cultivating confidence through any confusions of the heart.
“though your thorns may cause pain, you’re hear to heal through love”
‘Revolution’ was written about 5 months ago, during a period of deep, shadow, work integration, and generational lineage healing. Right after this song was written, I got the news that my grandmother was passing over the rainbow bridge. It’s a letter of forgiveness. To my family. To my mother, and sisters. To myself. A reclamation of my power and connection to spirit. A reminder of my strength.
Clean Blank Pages is a song that is the newest to me of the set. Written in early April, this song is what I wrote while on the road in avl, unsure of where to go next. In my bus, and in life. The idea of open possibilities, and the ache of feeling disconnected to “the journey” only to discover that that ache IS the journey. “I have been awake for ages and ages” this song is about reconnecting to the higher source Mind, to recognize that I’m always on the right road. (Leading to my Divine Home)
This project means the world to me. Thank you. For reading, sharing, listening to the music I have out, and for loving me.
