Update: Funeral will be Monday 1/13/25. Additional details will come out by family members via text or personal messages. Thank you.

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of the passing of Justin Gil, who tragically left us far too soon at the age of 37. On 12/22/24, Justin was found down by bystanders in what became a cardiac arrest event. Justin fought as hard as he could, but upon having continued cardiac events, he was ultimately left with an anoxic brain, otherwise known as brain dead. As Justin's other organs were still viable, the decision was made on behalf of Justin by his family to help multiple individuals through the organ donation program. Although Justin left this world on 1/1/25 at 5:03 pm, parts of him will continue to live on in the bodies of other individuals.

Justin was not only a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend, but also a source of joy and love for everyone who knew him. Justin's smile was infectious; he would give the shirt off his back to anyone, he cared deeply and loved harder. He was that type of friend who would always check up on you no matter the amount of time between the last time you talked. He was the most amazing husband and father, the best big brother to look up to, and that son you only wished you had. Justin continued to be selfless down to his last breath as he donated his liver and kidneys to those in need of them.

In the wake of this unexpected tragedy, Amelia (Justin's wife) will have immense challenges in the coming weeks and months. Justin was the primary breadwinner for their family, and his loss has left them in a difficult financial situation. They are not only facing funeral and medical costs but also the everyday living expenses that come with raising their young son, Theodore, on a single income.

We are reaching out for support during this difficult time to help lighten the challenges Amelia has ahead of her all while grieving this terrible loss. Anything will help as Amelia is left to cover funeral and memorial expenses, medical bills related to Justin's passing, daily living costs, including groceries, utilities, and childcare/after school care, and any additional costs that arise as they navigate this challenging period.

No amount is too small, and every donation will go directly to supporting our family as we learn to navigate life without Justin.

If you are unable to contribute financially, sharing this campaign with your network would mean the world to us. Your love, support, and prayers are greatly appreciated during this incredibly difficult time.

Your welcome to either donate here or via Amelia's venmo @Amelia-Gil

Thank you for your kindness and generosity.

With gratitude,
Justin's little sister - Wilmarie Nicole
