My name is Teresa and recently I went to visit my son, Anthony, where he was studying abroad. Anthony had been volunteering in a refugee camp where he meet an incredible young man named Ameer. Ameer is 17 years old. He was scheduled to be the valedictorian of his class when tragedy hit. Ameer left his home for school and while away, his house was bombed killing his parents and younger siblings. Ameer fled his country looking for safety. Along the way, he suffered from a cardiac issue. This issue is most likely trauma induced but needs surgery to be rectified. The refugee camp where he was stationed was hoping to get him to the US for the surgery but with recent travel bands, that is no longer possible.
Since he has been at the camp for over a year, the camp no longer provides paid housing. He is working to support himself but recently had to have medical treatment and he can no longer make ends meet.
This is a kid who is so bright and sweet and I would take him into my home if I could. He loves to read, especially fantasy novels, he is an amazing artist and writer and he currently speaks 3 languages. He wants so desperately to become a doctor and a writer one day. He is currently working on writing about his journey which is so incredibly inspiring. I did not even go through half of what this young man has been through and he still approaches life with kindness and a smile.
if you can please donate to help this boy pay for his medical care and necessities, I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you so much.
