While working a community Halloween craft market, things turned from great to disastrous in a matter of seconds as a 60ft+ tall cottonwood tree was toppled over in the wind, crushing several booths, injuring and trapping many, and even taking someone's life.
I am so incredibly grateful to still be here today and to have nothing more than a few bruises and shattered displays. I am fortunate to be able to work full-time doing what I love as an artist, however at this moment that also means that things are going to be tight as I try to rebuild my stock and replace all of my displays so that I can continue to do so. I have had tremendous help from family already, so I have a head start on replacing the necessities but could use a little more help to cover the costs of everything else, and make up what I lost over the weekend.
So many of my fellow friends and artists reached out asking to help and making sure I was okay, and I cannot thank you enough. It means so much to me to have such a wide range of support, some of you whom I've never even met in person. Don't feel obligated to donate, your kind words and support on my socials has helped so much and I appreciate every one of you.
I assessed the damages yesterday and created an excel sheet based on costs so that I can be completely transparent with what I would be using the funds for.
Like I said, many family members reached out, so I don't necessarily need to raise that full amount, but anything extra will definitely help. Thanks so much for sharing and reaching out; I am hoping to be back up and running in time for my next convention on November 15th. Love you all and again am so incredibly grateful for the love and support I have already received.
