To All My Clients:
From your now homeless hairstylist...I never thought this would be me...
First I apologize, please forgive me for taking off without warning from work and being shattered by the shame, trauma and grief handicapped in my ability to simply ask those who knew and love me for help.
Better late than never, at 37 years old, as a homeless, tent-bound woman who rides a bike and regularly fears assault and robbery: I'm asking for any help you can offer from clothes, shelter, transportation, accountability and financial support as an investment in what you all know Im capable of: spreading joy and love through the art of beauty in the lives of others.
I never thought Id lose such control that Id take off work without warning or allow myself to lose both my business and home. The abuse from my, now deceased partner who was found dead in his hotel room less than 24 hours after being released Elmwood on four counts felony domestic violence had re-exposed me to drugs and alcohol that I was previously sober from and I became quickly engulfed while he lost control of his own actions resulting in physical violence.
His arrest and word of his death sent me into a spiral and I took off work in December of 2022 and what wrecked my entire world and is what I believe the lichpin in my downfall was the loss fo my best friend and sister, Audra Davis as a result of accidental overdose.
Greiving the loss of both Justin and Audra as well as Kent who you all know died in 2020 from Cancer who I cared for shortly after my stroke, I lost my home as a result of depression and substance use disorder.
I'm seeking support with the goal of restarting business and going back to work, which takes a lot of resources, as many of you know and watched me build off my career at Atelier Aveda in Santana Row. Now starting from rock bottom with nothing; I'm desperately asking for help to regain control of my life, have a safe place to rest my head at night, and shut the door behind me both figuateivily to the violence and addiction of the streets but quite literally as the winters have taken a toll on me and rekindled my motivation to get back behind the chair and reopen business, accounts and renew both cosmetology and drivers license as well as business and establishment licenses.
All this totals to a goal of almost ten thousand dollars as I also await the support and help of Santa Clara County which can and has taken years to obtain.
Please consider and give with an open heart; knowing that your donation will help get me off of the streets, workign again and giving the gift of beauty that God gave me as well as that gift of passing on an over-all feeling of self-love, beauty and kindness that was what Veracity Salon Spa stood for.
