My name is Delcinia Thomas and I lost a good friend of mine to stage four cancer earlier today, 10/9/2025. Her name is Amber Ruiz. She was diagnosed last year and she fought a really good fight.

She is survived by Calea, age 17; Kiotti, age 13; and Finnley, age 2, her children. I will be taking care of two of her children; one will stay with her father up in North Dakota. Just asking for some help with getting us started. We will have some financial burdens: rent, food, gas, car insurance, and other different miscellaneous things that we would have to be paying for out of pocket. Her funeral expenses are a bit high and we’re not sure if we will receive the funds she would qualify for.

Amber lived a happy life. She was always there for other people and she cared a lot about helping others and being of service to people, not just people who are sober but people that were a mirror of what she had gone through in her life.

I’m just wanting to get a good start off with her children and begin our new life together as a family like she wanted, so whatever money that people can help with is greatly appreciated.
