Our hearts are broken as we share the unimaginable struggles that Amber and her family have faced over the past few months. In a span of weeks, they have endured more pain and hardship than most could fathom in a lifetime.

In May, Amber selflessly brought her mother into her home to provide care during the final stages of her battle with cancer. For seven months, Amber devoted herself to her mother’s needs, putting her life on hold to ensure her mom felt loved and comforted. On 11/8/24, Amber’s mother passed away, leaving a void that can never be filled.

As Amber and her family prepared for the memorial, hoping to honor her mother’s life amidst their grief, tragedy struck again. On the evening of Black Friday, November 29th, just two days before the memorial, Amber’s son was shot ten times in a senseless act of violence. He has been in critical care since that morning, fighting for his life.

Amber’s days now consist of sitting by her son’s bedside, praying for his recovery while grappling with the loss of her mother. Between the costs of organizing and paying for her mother’s memorial, the months spent caring for her at home, the mounting medical bills for her son, and months of missed work due to these crises, Amber and her family are at their breaking point.

Amber has always been the kind of person who puts others first, a light to everyone around her. But now she needs our help.
