My name is Amber Lidster and this was our home on May 24, 2024 on West Lone Oak Rd in Valley View Tx.

On May 25, 2024, my son Daltin Barber and I lost our home in the horrific Valley View Tornado in FRF and Shanondoah. Seven amazing lives were lost and so many were injured and incurred a complete loss or major damage in this unforgiving storm. Our community will be recovering from this for a long time.
Our 5-year-old mobile home was ripped off the floor and foundation and tossed everywhere with our two dogs in it! It's a miracle they survived! The homeowner insurance that was carried through the mortgage is paying the mobile home off but will not cover anything else. The total loss from this tornado is around $200,000. As a single mom with a teenage son, I was doing well before the tornado with being able to pay my bills and to afford groceries when needed!
I'm not one to just ask for help, and mentally this has been very hard to overcome! Seven years ago I started rebuilding everything in our lives and every bit of it was taken in a split second. It's taken me a month to realize that this is not something I can just get over and move on from. This is not something I will be able to overcome alone or with just my family's help. I'm now calling on my friends, neighbors, community, and strangers for help. I know there is no way I would ever be able to raise enough to replace everything, but anything will help. Every donation will go directly to a new home and belongings. If you are not able to donate, I ask for prayers for our recovery and to please share this.
