The Amazon pink river dolphins are not your ordinary dolphin. They are one of the only freshwater species in the world and are a crucial part of the river’s biodiversity. Pink river dolphins are social and playful creatures, respected and loved by the locals.
However, they were listed as an endangered species in 2018 due to deforestation, pollution, habitat loss, and illegal fishing practices. Their population has decreased by approximately 50% and is still declining.
The Amazon River Dolphin Conservation Foundation (ARDCF) works to conserve the Amazon river dolphins and their environment through research, collaboration, and education. Contributions will go towards promoting healthy, natural interactions between dolphins and people that protect both the animals and people, sustaining local culture, and the future of dolphin conservation.
Every contribution, no matter how small, matters in protecting the Amazon rainforest’s unique ecosystem.
Thank you for your generosity and becoming an active participant in the conservation of these amazing animals!
All funds raised will go directly to the ARDCF.
