Hello friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
I want to tell you about someone truly special — my daughter, Amaya Laura.
Amaya just finished 11th grade, and since kindergarten, she has been a straight-A student — yes, every single year. She’s a powerhouse of potential: driven, compassionate, humble, and wise beyond her years. She’s the kind of young woman who lifts others up even while climbing toward her own dreams.
Amaya is deeply involved in programs like Upward Bound and The National Beta Club, dedicating her time to service, leadership, and academic excellence. This summer, she was selected for an incredible opportunity — to attend a prestigious College’s Pre-Health Summer Program as a student ambassador. For Amaya, this was a dream come true: to walk the campus of her dream college, be mentored by professionals, and take her first step toward becoming a Pediatric Nurse, her long-held goal.
Unfortunately, due to circumstances outside her control, her funding fell through — not once, but twice. The disappointment has been heartbreaking. She did everything right, and the systems meant to support her simply failed.
As her mother, I’ve been doing everything I can to support her, even while navigating a difficult divorce and financial hardship. It’s not easy to ask for help, but I believe in my daughter so fiercely that I’m here, humbly reaching out to you.
We need to raise $3,900 to cover Amaya’s tuition, travel, and other program costs. Every dollar gets her closer to this life-changing experience and reminds her that there are still people who believe in hard work, honesty, and investing in the next generation.
Amaya has spent her life pouring her light into others. Now, I hope we can pour some back into her.
No amount is too small. If you can give, please do. If you can share this with your network, we would be so grateful.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping make Amaya’s dream a reality.
With love and deep gratitude,
Marisha (Amaya’s Proud Mom)
