Support Amaya's Fight Against Cancer
Donation protected
Will you join us in wrapping around the Wynn family?
On Thanksgiving they took their sweet Amaya (1 year old) in thinking she had a UTI, only to find out it was a tumor. Amaya was diagnosed with embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma in her bladder. This is an aggressive type of cancer that spreads quickly so the doctors responded rapidly. Amaya has already gotten a port in and started chemo. She took her first dose like a champ!
The good news is that so far they have only found the tumor in her bladder and the bone marrow biopsy came back clear! The goal is for the chemo to shrink the tumor down until they can do surgery to remove it safely. There is a potential she will need radiation as well.
The plan right now is that Amaya will go in once a week for 40 weeks to receive her chemo treatment. The hospital is 2.5 hours away. Amaya is the youngest of 3, but not for long! Alexis will be having baby #4 in the next couple of weeks!
Friends, it takes a village and the Wynns need us right now!
Prayer requests:
1. Scans coming up show no cancer in the rest of her body.
2. Port site heals without infection.
3. Chemo does its job and the tumor shrinks!
4. Amaya stays healthy (any illness would mean she has to be readmitted to the hospital).
5. For Alexis and the baby in her belly! For healthy mom and baby, for a smooth delivery, and for the family to figure out how to handle all of this.
Funds aren't the only way to wrap around this family, but it sure would lift a heavy burden. Money would help them w/ meals, gas, and of course medical bills. If you are able, any amount of donation would be so deeply appreciated.
