Support Amati's LVAD & Transplant Journey

I'm Amati Simmons, i'm 32. In 2020, I was diagnosed with congestive heart failure, and after years of fighting through complications—including giving birth to twins, battling COVID and pneumonia, and enduring multiple hospitalizations—In 2025 my condition took a turn for the worst. I have now have End stage heart failure been placed on the heart transplant list and have received an LVAD until I match with a donor.
The last few months have been especially difficult, with frequent hospital visits and months long stays. As a result of my rapidly declining condition I also face acute kidney failure, and surgeries that have left me physically and emotionally drained. Every day brings uncertainty, and I often find myself separated from my fiancé and our six children, missing precious moments with my family.

Before my health declined, I ran a digital marketing and website design business, helping nonprofits and small businesses grow their digital presence. I also created custom cake toppers for local bakers, connecting with my community and supporting other small business owners. Unfortunately, my worsening condition has forced me to pause my marketing business and scale back my creative work, leaving us without my income. My fiancé is now carrying the financial burden for our family, supporting our children’s education and activities while we put our dream of finding a permanent home on hold.

Update in September after being referred from my cardiologist with Mercy health care. I got admitted to Henry Ford in Detroit with End Stage heart failure I was scheduled for balloon pump and heart catheter asap and the following 6 weeks I stayed at the hospital 3 of those weeks I was bed bound with a balloon pump awaiting a fast donor. The time limit on having a balloon pump expired and I had to get a LVAD. That surgery happened October 9th and I've been in recovery but tomorrow 10/26 I'll finally return to my family with a ton of life style changes and put back on heart transplant list upon healing.

this October 2025 we found a rental home but we are to start completely over with furnishing while also making medically necessary accommodations and space for medical equipment in our home

We are stronger because of all this and know this is really only the beginning of the journey.

Medical and day to day Bills are still hitting us pretty hard. If you or someone you know would like to donate. Anything helps & is greatly appreciated. We know things are tight for a lot of us right now so any donation is not overlooked and our gratitude goes out to you.
