Hello, my fellow Eritrean and Ethiopian brothers and sisters,

I am writing with a heavy heart to ask for help for my beloved nephew, Amar

Tesfay. Amar, 42 (born September 2, 1983), is fighting for his life in Addis Ababa

after suffering acute kidney failure.

Amar spent ten years in an Eritrean prison before becoming seriously ill and being

released. Following his imprisonment, his health continued to decline, eventually

leading to kidney failure. Amar is currently receiving intensive care and dialysis at

a clinic in Addis Ababa due to his critical condition. His mother and sister, who

have been living in a refugee camp in Ethiopia’s Afar region, have traveled to

Addis Ababa to be by his side.

According to doctors, he will require long-term treatment or a kidney transplant.

He has also expressed interest in moving to Uganda, where he hopes to receive

regular dialysis while looking for work to support himself.

Between hospital stays, dialysis, medications, tests, and potential future

procedures, the medical costs are rapidly becoming overwhelming. Due to

Untenable conditions in Ethiopia, Amar requires urgent medical treatment in

Uganda. And we are raising funds to cover:

 Hospital and ICU bills

 Medications and ongoing treatments

 Specialist consultations and any transplant-related costs

 Travel, lodging, and basic living expenses while Amar secures a permanent

place to live and work
