Support Amarachi's Family with Expenses
I, along with close friends of Amarachi and her family, humbly reach out to you to ask for help on behalf of a family that we hold near and dear to our hearts…
Amarachi, a local Kinnelon, NJ teen was diagnosed with Stage 4 Rhabdomyosarcoma (a soft tissue sarcoma affecting the muscles attached to the bones) in January 2024 at 13 years old. Sadly, Amarachi has lost her 2-year battle with this very rare and very aggressive cancer on Sunday, February 8th passing away peacefully at her home.
She was a bright and beautiful light in the lives of everyone who knew her. At just 15 years old, she lived with a level of strength, compassion, and perspective that touched people in a way most spend a lifetime trying to achieve. She fought her illness with incredible courage and grace, never losing the warmth and love that defined who she was.
Amarachi was an outstanding equestrian whose heart and passion for the sport were clear to anyone who watched her ride. She shared a special bond with her horse, Marty, whom she loved and adored. Together, Marty and Mach were extremely successful earning many ribbons and awards recognizing their achievements and dedication to the sport. The barn was often a place of comfort and peace for Amarachi. Marty had a way of brightening even her hardest days and grounding her, reminding her of who she was and what she loved when times felt overwhelming. With Marty, she showed discipline, determination, and a connection that was evident to everyone who saw them together.
Family and friends were extremely important to Amarachi as well as her relationship with God. She had a joyful energy that made people feel seen, included, and loved. Her kindness, humor, and genuine interest in others drew people to her, and she left a lasting impact on everyone lucky enough to know her. She was brave and tenacious, yet deeply kind, sensitive, and comforting to others, even while facing her own challenges. She was an inspiration to us all.
As you can imagine, this journey has been a tremendous financial burden on her family, particularly for her mother, a single parent providing the sole financial support for Amarachi and her younger brother, as well as needing to maintain her job to cover her medical insurance needs, housing, and all other expenses and now funeral expenses as well.
It is with great humility that we ask our community for help to manage the financial burdens this has brought to the family. If you are able to help support them in anyway, it would be more appreciated than can ever be expressed.
The help and care expressed so far have been received with heartfelt gratitude and each act is tremendously valued and appreciated. Please use the link below and give as your heart and personal finances allow.
We thank you with all of our hearts on behalf of Amarachi,
Chi (her mother), and Emeka (her supportive younger brother)
