Support Amanda's Recovery and Road to Normalcy

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Samantha, my sister is Amanda Clark. On June 25th, severe storms tore through the OKC Metro area, leaving damage in several areas. My sister Amanda had left her house that evening and nothing but a light sprinkle was in the air. When she began her journey home, the rain was quite a bit heavier and the winds that night were reaching 70 to 80mph.

As Amanda started home down I-35, her truck began to spin. She told us that she just remembers spinning and spinning but nothing else. There were no other vehicles involved and she's not sure what the truck hit but it eventually came to a stop. The next thing she remembers is the firemen trying to help her out of the truck. They eventually had to break out the windshield since the doors would not open. Amanda was taken out the front of the truck and as she put it, she suffered pain so intense she passed out.
At the hospital, we learned that Amanda had a broken humerus and elbow, along with 3 broken ribs, a broken pelvis, a broken hip socket, a fractured forehead, a minor brain bleed and numerous cuts, abrasions and places where glass was embedded in the skin. The open compound fracture to the arm was so severe, that it required surgery.

Amanda was in the hospital for a week and released back to her home in Norman. She will be doing in-home physical therapy and will have a tough road ahead. She is walking some but gets tired very easily and is dealing with some shortness of breath and overall, is just uncomfortable all the time.

While Amanda was at the hospital, there were several people making up her support system including her wife, Amber, her daughter, Katie, Aunt Jo and numerous other friends and family.

While Amanda is back home, it will be a little while before she gets back to work. Her wife Amber is still running her pet care business while trying to juggle Amanda's care and arranging for people to help sit with Amanda while she recovers.

With the missed work, reduced pay through disability payments and bills that will be piling up, along with the eventual cost of replacing a vehicle, Amanda and Amber could use a little help as they get through this tough time. It would help ease the stress to know some of those expenses are taken care of.

Please donate what you can, even $5 or $10 makes a difference. Amanda and Amber appreciate all of your support, prayers and well wishes.

This fundraiser is set up with Amanda's account and funds will go directly to her. Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
