A Heartfelt Plea: Helping Amanda Reclaim the Light
Amanda's Stolen Sunshine
My wife, Amanda Davey, used to light up a room with her energy. She thrived as a technical support associate, helping others and tackling challenges head-on. Then, three years ago, everything changed. A severe concussion robbed her of her health, her job, and much of her independence. daily nausea and extreme light sensitivity have left her a prisoner in her own body. Simple tasks, like driving at night or even enjoying a day without debilitating pain, feel like distant memories.
The Everyday Struggle
We've battled tirelessly, exhausting every treatment insurance covers. Specialists offered little relief. Just when hope seemed lost, we received a lifeline – a referral from Dr Amy D. Pruszenski of Visual Victory Training, who we found out about from the Vermont concussion collaborative, a dedicated team focused on helping patients like Amanda heal.
A Path to Recovery: The Pinnacle Program
Dr. Amy introduced us to the Pinnacle Program, a multi-sensory rehabilitation treatment offering Amanda a path back to the life she desires. The program tackles two crucial challenges that are impacting Amanda's daily living: light sensitivity and depth perception. Light sensitivity disrupts basic tasks, making even navigating a brightly lit store overwhelming. Depth perception issues further hinder her balance and coordination, impacting activities Amanda used to enjoy. But there's hope.
The Pinnacle Program is designed to address these concerns and may even hold the key to regaining something Amanda dearly misses - the ability to visualize. We've learned that the disconnect between her two brain hemispheres has limited her ability to see the world in a complete picture. The Pinnacle Program, by retraining her brain's sensory processing, could help bridge this gap. Imagine Amanda visualizing her surroundings clearly again, not just as separate light and spatial data, but as a cohesive whole. This newfound clarity could allow her to plan and manage daily activities, including a job, with renewed confidence.
Think about Amanda confidently running errands, or even being able to dance again. The Pinnacle Program could pave the way for her to reconnect the dots, both literally and figuratively, and reclaim the life she deserves.
Why We Need Your Help
Unfortunately, insurance doesn't cover the Pinnacle Program. This 30-day treatment, with follow-up care, comes at a significant cost. Your contribution, no matter the size, will bring Amanda closer to a life filled with light, not pain. Every donation will directly support Amanda's journey to healing. This includes the Pinnacle Program and housing costs while she stays in New Hampshire for treatment. Your contribution will help Amanda reclaim the healthy and fulfilling life she deserves. Amanda's unwavering spirit is my daily inspiration. With your help, we can turn on the lights in her world again. If there are any extra funds they will be used to cover medical debts related to Amanda's treatment.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
