Hello, my name is Amanda. I am creating this GoFundMe for my mother, whose apartment caught fire on May 21st, 2025.

It happened in the patio and happened so fast that no one can understand how it happened. My mother had stepped out to go to work (house cleaner) around 12:30 PM. At just after 1 PM, she got a call from neighbors about her apartment.

My mother is a hard working woman who raised me by herself as a single mother. She has always worked hard and even now at the age of 62 is still working hard and trying to live her life when this tragedy happened. We are not rich by any means and the repairs, along with clean up will be costly. My mother also had pets. She had two Cockatiels that were producing eggs but unfortunately were in the patio and are now gone. She also had two cats and a dog. Thankfully, all three animals were able to be rescued from the fire due to the valiant efforts of the firefighters and neighbors who were present. A couple of kind neighbors were able to rush the animals to the vet. One cat, Lily, unfortunately did not make it. She had inhaled too much smoke. When she got to the vet, she unfortunately was already gone; her body shut down. The other cat, Angel, was still critical, but, sadly, she passed the morning of May 23rd. The dog, Junior, was in the best condition, has a bit of a cough but he is currently home as of May 22nd. This also means there will be a vet bill which is another major hurdle for us.

Any amount you can donate will be greatly appreciated to help my mother. All funds will be used directly towards the clean up, repair, and restoration of the apartment, and the vet bills.
