I am creating this fundraiser for my friend, Amanda Furniss, because her life has been turned upside down in the most heartbreaking way, and right now she needs people to rally around her and her family.

In one single week, Amanda heard the words no mother ever wants to hear, not once, but twice. Thyroid cancer. Cervical cancer. Before she could even begin to process one diagnosis, another followed. Now, while trying to stay strong for her six children, she is facing another surgery, possible spread to her lymph nodes, and the devastating reality of chemotherapy and radiation.

Amanda is not only fighting for her own health right now, she is also trying to continue being everything her family needs her to be. She is a mother of six children, including an 8 month old baby, and one of her children, her four-year-old son, has autism and brain damage and requires frequent appointments, care, and ongoing support.
Even before these diagnoses, life was already demanding. Now, with thyroid cancer, cervical cancer, another surgery ahead, and possible chemotherapy and radiation on the table, the emotional, physical, and financial strain on this family is almost impossible to put into words.

She is a wife, a daughter, and the kind of person who carries the weight of everyone around her. She is the one who keeps going, keeps showing up, keeps holding it together, even when life is crushing her. But right now, she is facing more than anyone should ever have to face.

She is currently recovering from major surgery, she had her thyroid and lymph nodes removed last Monday and is waiting for her next surgery to remove the cervical cancer. At this time she is on FULL BED REST, recovery is going much worse than imagined and she is struggling immensely. Her doctors are concerned that the thyroid cancer may have spread into the lymph nodes in her neck.

While most people would be falling apart, Amanda is still trying to be strong for her children. She is trying to smile through fear she should never have had to carry. She is trying to comfort her babies while quietly living with the terrifying reality that no mother is ever prepared for.

She has already been out of work for months. Her husband, Ty, has missed a large amount of work taking her to appointments, surgeries, and helping care for her and their children. His work is already slower during the winter, so their income has been hit from every direction at the exact moment they need stability the most.

And the bills do not stop just because a family is in crisis.

They are still trying to carry:
their house payment,
utilities and household bills,
gas and travel for medical appointments and specialists,
food and daily expenses for a household with six children,
and the growing financial burden that comes with cancer treatment and recovery.

Amanda is also helping care for her disabled elderly mother and her brother. She has always been someone others could lean on. Now she is the one in need, and asking for help is not easy for her.

The emotional weight of this is impossible to put into words. This is a mother laying in bed after surgery, in pain, not knowing what tomorrow will bring. This is a family trying to hold onto normal while living from appointment to appointment, scan to scan, fear to fear. This is six children needing their mother while she fights to stay strong enough to keep going.

No one should have to hear they have two separate cancers in the same week.
No one should have to worry about losing income while fighting for their life.
No child should have to watch their mother walk through this.

If you can donate, please help this family breathe. Help take some of the weight off Amanda’s shoulders so she can focus on what matters most right now, healing and being here for her children.

If you cannot donate, please share this and pray for Amanda. Please pray for clear answers, for healing, for strength, and for her babies who need their mom.

Every single share matters.
Every prayer matters.
Every dollar matters.

Thank you for loving Amanda and her family through the hardest fight of her life.
