This donation page is dedicated to my sister Amanda Watson-Kasten, who has recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer. Amanda is a single mom of 4 beautiful children, and she needs our help!
In July 2024, Amanda noticed a lump in her left breast. A diagnostic mammogram was immediately ordered and showed signs of cancer. A few days later, Amanda had a biopsy of her left and right breast. The results showed Invasive Ductal Carcinoma in the left breast and lymph node stage 2-A. Fast forward to a week later, a PET scan was ordered to see if there was cancer in other places in her body. Unfortunately, the results have shown that there is cancer in her tailbone as well. This changed her diagnosis to stage 4.
Amanda had her port placement surgery on August 19, 2024. She will be starting a rigorous chemotherapy treatment this week. We are unsure of what other treatments are coming, but will likely include radiation, a double mastectomy, and more chemo. Our girl is about to fight for her life. Please help our family surround Amanda with love, hope, prayers, and support during this journey.
Many friends and family are asking how they can help Amanda in this journey. To help alleviate some of this financial burden, we’ve created a GoFundMe page to help support her in what will quickly become the most difficult time in her life. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a tangible difference. Funds received will help cover medical costs and basic household expenses while she is unable to work full time. By easing some of these financial worries, we can allow her to focus on what truly matters: her health and recovery.
Amanda is such a bright light in all of our lives and has so much to offer this world. This diagnosis does not define her, and the hope is that with your help, it does not have to become a further burden in her future when she is cancer-free.
