Update- This $825 I was able to raise was used to pay my rent for Nov/Dec. It is almost the end of January now and I have $4 to my name. I have been volunteering with the homeless. Gathering supplies and working with a rescue in my down time when I am feeling well enough. I am beyond stressed trying to figure out how I will have the $650 I need to prevent myself and my dog from being homeless. My disability status is on stage 3/5 when it had moved from 1/5 in between July and beginning of January. So I'm hopeful it will come soon. If you can help with any amount it would be greatly appreciated! I door dash when I am feeling ok. Its just been a struggle lately! Thank you so much!
Hello, as you know, my name is Amanda. I have been battling a chronic illness for many years. In the past 6 months, it has gotten out of control. I have gone through 3 jobs this year because my pain is so unbearable. One of those jobs I had been at for 5 years since 2019. Not to mention, losing my grandma in May to stage 4 lung cancer has taken a huge toll on me as well as our family dog batteling cancer last sept-november he did beat it! Then my car broke down in the end of October, so it has been non-stop issues this year.
I have been behind on rent a few times, and I am finally almost caught up after getting help from a family member. I am out of borrowing options, and I can't risk being homeless again. I applied for disability in June of this year, and it is a very long process, so I did hire a lawyer who will take out of my back pay if I am approved. I have applied for Section 8 (I'm #584 on the waiting list), public housing (18 months out), and called many local organizations to get rent assistance with no luck. I hate to ask for help, but I do not know what else to do. I am currently trying to find a job that is more flexible and not so physical, and hopefully, that will help me until I can get on disability. I could use help with groceries, gas, pet food and money to pay rent and get a few chrismas gifts for the kids. My goal is $1,000 because this would help me be able to get through December and enjoy the holiday. It would take a huge toll off me when it is going to be a very difficult time as it is. I appreciate any help I can get from $1 to whatever you can spare. I really appreciate your time reading this.
My condition is fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, muscle & nerve disorder along with sciatica. I also have severe anxiety and ptsd from abusive relationships. I am on palliative care with my primary doctor right now since this is a chronic condition (no cure). Right now, I am $230 behind, and rent will be due Dec 1st, which is $650. This doesn't include electricity, gas, and groceries. I know a lot of people are struggling, but I would really appreciate any help I could get as I am doing this as a last resort. Happy Holidays! - Amanda
