Three weeks ago, our family received life-changing news.
At 38 weeks pregnant, my sister, Amanda, was diagnosed with Stage III breast cancer. In what should have been a season focused entirely on welcoming a new baby, Amanda and her husband, Landon, were suddenly faced with a battle they never expected.
After consulting with her medical team, the decision was made to induce labor immediately. Their baby was healthy and thriving, and doctors wanted Amanda to begin the testing and treatment process as quickly as possible to give her the best chance for a successful outcome.
Since then, life has moved at an overwhelming pace. Amanda has undergone extensive testing to help her doctors develop the most effective treatment plan. She will be receiving all three major treatment modalities for her cancer: chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation.
The good news is this: Amanda's cancer is treatable.
Throughout these difficult weeks, God's faithfulness and providence have been evident every step of the way. Amanda and her family have been blessed with an incredible community of family, friends, neighbors, and church members who have surrounded them with prayers, encouragement, meals, and practical support. We are so grateful for the outstanding medical team caring for her and for the many people who continue to lift her up in prayer each day.
Amanda is a young dentist and the primary source of income for their family. Together, she and Landon had previously made the decision for Landon to stay home and care for their growing family. Today, that beautiful family includes three precious children: Easton (4), Quinn (2), and newborn Callahan.
As Amanda begins treatment, she will be unable to work for a period of time. Their focus right now must be on her health, recovery, and caring for their three young children. The financial burden of lost income, ongoing medical expenses, and daily family needs has created a significant challenge during an already difficult season.
Many of you have asked how you can help. One of the most meaningful ways is by supporting Amanda, Landon, and their children through this fundraiser. Every gift, no matter the size, will help ease the financial strain and allow them to focus on what matters most: Amanda's treatment, healing, and time with her family.
Most importantly, we ask for your continued prayers. We remain hopeful and encouraged, trusting God through each step of this journey. As Scripture reminds us in Philippians 4:4-9, we can find peace in bringing our requests to Him and fixing our minds on what is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable.
Thank you for standing with Amanda and her family during this difficult season. Your prayers, generosity, and encouragement mean more than words can express.
