Hello!
I'm Amanda, a choreographer and crocheter based in Cleveland, OH. The Cleveland Public Theatre (CPT) will be producing my work this spring as part of their DanceWorks series and I'm absolutely THRILLED to participate. The show runs May 15-17, 2025.
That said, there are several costs to pull off a production of this scale, mostly to ensure I can provide stipends to all the participating artists (9 dancers, a lighting designer, board operator, photographer, videographer, etc) plus the costs involved in helping to get the word out about the show.
I would be so humbled if you could contribute in any way to this production. Having the support of my community means the world to me and any amount is so significant to me.
About the work:
Unravel is a series of movement vignettes about building, unraveling, and repair. Combining contemporary dance with crochet, dancers will move through yarn-constructed landscapes, weave creations with their bodies, and ultimately pull everything to pieces.
About me:
After graduating Ohio University with a degree in Creative Writing, Dance, & Choreography, I've lived in NYC, Austin, and Cleveland, making dance theater pieces. My work has been described by the Austin Chronicle as, "Energetic and fascinating" and by the Austin-American Statesman as having "Truckloads of creativity."
I took a 15-year break from dance to focus on my family and am beyond excited to share this work with my community in Cleveland. I hope you can support and I hope to see you at the show!
xoxo,
Amanda
