On Christmas Eve, my world changed forever. My beloved son, Caden Michael Speck, passed away at just 18 years old after a courageous battle with Diffuse Leptomeningeal Glioneuronal Tumors. Caden was born on July 31, 2007, in Lawrenceville, Georgia, and brought so much joy to everyone who knew him. He was a natural athlete, especially passionate about baseball, and his dedication inspired everyone around him. More than anything, Caden was the best big brother to Nixxon, Hayes, and Lila Kate, and his love for his siblings was boundless. His radiant smile and inspiring spirit carried us through the hardest days, and his bravery in the face of illness was a beacon of hope for our family.

For the past several years, I had to quit my job to care for Caden full-time. We spent much of our lives in hospitals, and I did everything I could to be there for him and my children. Now, after this unimaginable loss, I am left trying to pick up the pieces. I have lost everything—my job, my stability, and the life we once knew. I am doing my best to move forward for my children, but it’s a slow and difficult process.

I am reaching out for help as I try to get back on my feet and provide for my family.
