Support Jason's Cancer Battle: Surgery and Recovery
Donation protected
Dear Friends and Family,
We are coming to you with an urgent request for support for Jason, who is facing a significant battle with cancer. On December 18th, Jason will undergo a critical surgery - a total Laryngectomy, total Glossectomy, and neck dissection. This means he will have his voice box, tongue, and lymph nodes removed, a procedure that will involve two surgeons and take approximately 12-14 hours. This surgery is his last hope for a cure after exhausting all other treatment options.
The recovery from this surgery will be extensive, keeping Jason in the hospital past Christmas. Post-surgery, he will have a permanent stoma for breathing since his trachea will be rerouted through his neck, and he will no longer have vocal cords or a tongue, which will require him to adjust to new methods of communication and eating.
This journey has been long and challenging, both physically and emotionally. As we approach this crucial time, we are also faced with the practical challenges of his recovery. We need to secure a hotel room near the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where Jason will be hospitalized, so I can stay close by to support him through his recovery.
We understand that this is a tough time of year to ask for help, but any financial assistance would be immensely beneficial.
If you're unable to contribute financially, we would be incredibly grateful for your prayers and positive thoughts, especially on the day of his surgery, December 18th.
Thank you for your incredible support, love, and kindness. We look forward to a new and brighter 2025 together. ❤️
With love and gratitude,
Amanda
