Hi, my name is Amber Fogarty, and I am raising money for my best friend, Amanda Holmes. She has type 1 diabetes and also sarcoidosis of the heart. She has written a special message, and I will attach it now.

Dear loved ones, please take a moment and read this. It pains me that I must do this, but I am struggling. My close friends and family know how hard it is for me to ask for help due to my independence, hustling, and go-getter personality. I have been in heart failure due to cardiac sarcoidosis. My heart is attacking itself as it thinks it's a foreign body. I have been dealing with this for years now, and it is a progressive disease with no cure. My best bet is to get a new heart. I am doing all the work up to get one. I am required to undergo intensive care, rehab, a strict diet, and long visits to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. As time goes on, I get worse and worse. I have been denied disability and can no longer work full-time and to my full potential. I am having trouble paying my car and high hospital bills. I need my car to go back and forth to the Mayo Clinic as it, at this point, is life or death. I will also need medical equipment to help me recover from the surgery when I get a new heart. I want to be alive with my family and to watch my baby daughter grow up to be a wonderful woman. I am asking for anything you can donate, as every cent helps.
