Where do I even start??
On February 29, 2024 my sister Amanda and her family lost just about everything due to a fire at their apartment. They were very thankful that there were no injuries however it has left them displaced, looking for a more permanent place to live. They have been staying with friends for the time being.
That’s not even the worst of it all. Late Tuesday, March 12, Eugene, Amanda’s boyfriend, the father of my nephew and niece, had a massive stroke. The damage left him with a brain bleed that due to the location, they cannot operate on. He is currently in a comatose state and on a ventilator.
This has now left them with missing wages and dependent on their community. Their babies have been being taken care of by family and Amanda and Eugene have been getting emotional and mental support from friends and family but they are going to need more.
It is an extremely emotional and difficult situation to see someone in. They are going to need to be able to get the day to day things like food and diapers. Amanda has some things that she needs to get done with her car. They need to find a place they can call home. Not to mention, the cost of Eugene’s current and future state. We don’t know when Amanda will be able to return to work and if/when that happens, they will be a one income family.
Please help elevate the financial stress this has left on my sister and her family. Any amount is greatly appreciated! We will also post updates as the situation changes.
