Support Amanda Brooks: Teacher in Need of Help

Hello! My name is Amanda Brooks, and I am in need of some help. I am a public school teacher who is getting ready to start school this week, my 23rd year of teaching. I love my job, and I put my all into each day with my students, many of whom are refugee and students living in poverty. I often purchase supplies, snacks, and have helped families with clothing and holiday presents.

On Friday, my toilet started leaking from the base, and the resulting work showed that roots from my landscaping had grown up into the sewer clean out trap and blocked the entire water system to my house. Unfortunately, my insurance only covers water damage, NOT the water system. So I am left on the hook for the amount of $9,000+ when it is all said and done. This is a massive financial hit to me, of which I am not able to afford, but must find a way to pay so that I can have running water in my home.

I am asking for any and all assistance that you can provide to help me pay off this amount. I pride myself on being self sufficient and taking care of these types of things, but I realized that I need to ask of my friends and family for some help. I promise you that I will pay it forward!
