Amanda is my friend and co-worker, and she is facing an incredibly difficult time. Her husband, Axel, is a legal immigrant who has always followed the rules—he keeps his documents up-to-date, works hard, pays taxes, and has no criminal or traffic violations. Despite doing everything right, Axel was recently detained while attending his annual immigration court date and is now being held in an immigration detention center. His next court date is set for February 20th, and the uncertainty has been overwhelming for Amanda and their family.

Amanda is an elementary school teacher who has worked tirelessly to support her students and her community. Now, she is doing everything she can to support her husband, including securing legal representation to help Axel in court. However, the attorney’s fees are a heavy burden, and Amanda cannot cover them on her own.
