Support Amanda and JP

Background:

On 9/1 as Hurricane Ida left the southern United States and barreled North through the US many of us prepared for heavy rainfall and wind. What we never expected was the ferocity and speed with which we would be subject to the full strength of the storm. On 9/2 while Amanda, her mom and JP were settling in for the night in their Queens, NY apartment were confronted with Hurricane Ida's full force.

Within the span of 30 minutes over 4 feet of water tore through their door and quickly flooded their home. Focused on escaping the raging waters they scrambled to flee and avoid being trapped indoors as the water was rising. In the process they left with nothing more than the clothes on their backs. During the life or death effort to evacuate, Amanda's mother was seriously injured, with two breaks in her leg.

Right now Amanda and JP need your help. The devastation caused by the storm has all but decimated their apartment and created a perilous situation for them on the heals of Covid. They seek housing, clothing and resources to get back on their feet. They need your help, compassion, and resources.

Please consider donating as much as you can spare to help them get back on their feet. With most of the personal property destroyed, they are facing an uphill battle to get even the most basic needs met. Any all support can make a difference in the lives of this beloved family.
