I am reaching out on behalf of our friends to ask for support for the sudden, devastating loss of their family member, Amadou Balde. Amadou, brother of our dear friend Thierno, and nephew of Mahmoudou Kande, suffered a tragic and suspicious death in Poland about ten days ago. Amadou fought for his life for five days in the hospital before he succumbed to his injuries. His family was not notified until after his death. Amadou's family, who are scattered across the globe, is heartbroken and trying to raise money to send Amadou's body back to his home in Senegal.

Amadou was a talented musician from Senegal who was living in Poland. He was a kind soul who brought joy to so many people through his drumming, singing, and infectious smile. Amadou radiated the warmth and generosity of spirit that many of us have come to know and love from the Kande and Balde families.
