Help Amada Fight Multiple Myeloma Cancer with Strength, Hope, and Dignity

My grandma, Amada Elizarraras, is the heart of our family — a woman whose name, Amada, literally means “beloved,” and she truly lives up to it. Her story is one of quiet strength, sacrifice, and unconditional love.

Years ago, she came to this country with nothing but courage and faith, determined to build a better life for her children. She worked tirelessly, often putting everyone else’s needs before her own. Through hardship, loss, and pain, she never stopped giving. Even when life tested her beyond measure, she still found a way to smile — to offer kindness, to feed others before feeding herself, to make everyone feel loved and safe.

Now, she’s facing one of her greatest battles yet: multiple myeloma, a rare and aggressive form of blood cancer. This diagnosis causes her bones to have lesions and the plasma cells in her body have cancer and multiply it has affected her bones and she is in constant pain . She’s currently undergoing radiation and chemotherapy, fighting through the exhaustion and pain with the same grace and courage that have defined her life.

But the treatments, the medications, the travel to appointments, and the recovery process have created heavy financial burdens — more than our family can carry alone. The funds raised here will go directly toward her medical bills, ongoing treatment, recovery care, housing, and transportation to and from the hospital.

Amada has always been the one holding everyone else together. Now she needs us to help hold her.
