Hi everyone, my name is Denim, and I’m creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my cousin Alyssa and her family — her two beautiful kids Aaliyah and Axel, and her loving parents Melissa and Allen.
Alyssa was recently in a terrible car accident that has left her with a long road to recovery and many uncertainties ahead. This has been a devastating time for our family as we rally around her and try to support her through her healing journey.
Below, I’ve shared a post written by her mom, Melissa, who explains more about what happened and what Alyssa and their family are facing right now.
We are asking for any help or support you can offer — whether that’s a donation, a share, or a prayer. Every bit of kindness makes a difference as they navigate this incredibly difficult time. ❤️
From Melissa:
haven't gotten a chance to reflect. I wanted to make a post for my beautiful daughter Alyssa Clair. I can't help but cry as I am writing this. Alyssa went to go to her fiance's house this past weekend. I keep thinking of what I could have done differently. A storm was coming but didn't look too bad. Alyssa got ready and wanted to head out and try and beat the storm. 10 -15 minutes from Chris Beattie 's house she had messaged him that she would be there in minutes. Chris tried to call her and there was no answer. Repeated missed calls. Luckily Chris and Alyssa share locations via there phones. Chris got worried and went to look for her at the location of her pinging. As he was panicking he arrived to see police and an ambulance loading Alyssa up. He tried to get to her telling the officers that is his girl, that's her vehicle that was down the cliffside. Thank God he found her in time and he called me. He said Mom, I was worried and went to find Alyssa and she is hurt. She was in an accident. My heart sank! I couldn't get to my Baby fast enough. I immediately was praying to God to keep her here with us. We didn't know what we could expect. I was panicking trying to find what hospital she was sent to. Calling all the hospitals in PA. Finally Chris sent me the information and her Dad, Allen Clair and I went immediately to the hospital that was 3 hours away. We weren't sure what exactly happened. When we arrived she was covered with blood and leaves in her hair, she was vomiting black blood. She had full body CT and XRAYS. Alyssa is in so much pain. I'm here Baby Girl, We are here! Mommy and Daddy are here with you. Chris was there holding her hand. All she kept doing was apologizing. Alyssa stop. All we need is you. No vehicle or object would ever be more important. Stop apologizing. Alyssa was suffering from a bad concussion from the blows to her head, broken nose, broken arm and shoulder, broken vertebrae, broken leg and ankle, internal bleeding with a lacerated adrenal gland and kidney and was swollen with cuts and bruises and huge hematomas all over her body. We stayed with her. To see her suffer in pain is agonizing. We had blood work after blood work looking to see and she was still losing blood. They didn't want to mask anything with too much pain medication. They needed more test, they found she has additional broken vertebrae in her lumbar spine as well as her leg and ankle breaks. She needs surgery to repair them along with her shoulder but isn't stable enough. They continued to watch for the internal bleeding. The blood was pooling inside her peritoneal cavity and in kidney area. Her father went to see the vehicle and get whatever belongings were still there like her phone, wallet ID ect. The investigators thought there was no way anyone in this vehicle would have lived. When police arrived, they were looking in the woods and treetops for children. The car seats were crushed and torn apart. Had they been in the car, they both would have died. We thought she went over a guardrail and found out that Alyssa hydroplained went into the other lane backwards then hit an embankment in front of the beginning of the guardrail and was launched up in the air, up and over the guardrail, nose diving the van into the cliffside breaking her nose and knocking her out, going head over tail several times throwing her body through the ruins of the inside of the van, She had hair still hanging from the ceiling of the van, then was rolling down on it's side and Alyssa was ejected from the vehicle when it was nose over tail through the rear of the van and thrown 20 feet from the van and she was tossed like a rag doll down the rocky cliffside as the Van hit a big oak tree. All of which could also have killed her. To think of the amount of trauma her poor body went through, but God and the angels were watching over her. A passerby seen what happened and called 911, the ambulance and police were there quickly to save her life. She was broken but still breathing!! My Baby Girl, I sit here holding yours and Daddy's hand, crying as I think about when you were born and all these memories flooding my mind. I can't lose you! I won't lose you or I will come and find you. I sit here and cry thinking of your own babygirl, crying and pleading is My Mommy ok? Is mommy going to die? I don't want Mommy to Die! I DON'T WANT MOMMY TO BE WITH JESUS!! All we could do was pray together. I didn't know if Alyssa was going to be ok, so I couldn't say if she was going to come home. Only that God and the angels are watching over her and keeping her safe. This is going to be a long journey. I pray that Alyssa finds comfort and her pain subsides. That she is given the strength to push through this pain and be able to walk again. To push her babies on the swing again and be able to watch them grow up. The initial picture didn't seem bad, at first but as you scroll along you can see the van and insides were all crushed. Alyssa was thrown around in the van and launched out the back of the van window when she was launched 20 feet away. It wasn't through the windshield as we thought it was through all three rows and the trunk. Luckily the third row was down otherwise Alyssa would have never made it out of the car and would have surely died. 85 percent of accidents where you are ejected from a vehicle, the victims usually die. Alyssa, you are so strong and are meant to be here! God knows your family needs you here with us!! I am so thankful to the passerby who made that call, it very well saved her life, her fiance Chris for knowing something was wrong and going with his gut to go out there and find her and to the Trauma team at the hospital who faced 12 different accidents with multiple victims, not all who had survived, thank you to my husband for trying to keep it together enough to get us to where we needed to be, with our daughter. For Alyssa's brothers and their significant others like Adriana Kull who drove Cory for hours to be there with his little sister, who were all just as worried, For all of our family being there in these moments we need them, my parents and sisters and all of their adult children, Most of all Thank you God, all the glory to you Lord, for sparing Alyssa's life. Please give us the strength to get through this as a family. Thank you to all of my family and friends who know about this and have reached out and also taking that ride even though it was hours away. So truly thankful because this could have had a very different ending!! Praise be to GOD in heaven
